Framing Day 2

Today I looked out my kitchen window for the FIRST time.  I loved it.  You will see the photo on this page...beautiful view of the trees and the back yard..just like last time.  I love having a window over the sink--it doesnt make doing dishes any more fun..but it sure helps.

Landmarks in the house: patio door, height of foyer--front door, door to the garage...study (piano room) window.  Lots of wood was delivered today--the trusses...etc.  We wonder if they work on Saturdays?

We will see what the weekend brings--we are leaving for Charleston SC on Tuesday--it will be exciting to come back on July 1 and see the progress!

front of the house (first floor only..so far!)
KITCHEN window--see how pretty it is!!!!

that tall wall is part of the foyer--the front door, and that little part that juts out is part of the piano room (I am in the kitchen now)

Pretty front door!

that's all for now--gotta clean the apartment...that will take 10 minutes...hahahaha!

So much has happened since June 2!

So, here are some recent photos:

Back fill is complete.  We have been told the carpenters will be there this week to start framing!! It looks GREAT!  And it is moving right along--according to plan.

Apartment life is good. The move was uneventful-even though it was super HOT---and a week later, we are settled. Last night, I had "nothing" to do, but watch episodes of Diners Drive Ins and Dives...I am addicted to that show!

Our apartment has 3 bedrooms, and 2 full baths, and Wally and I have a walk in closet...so life is GOOD. Pretty spacious--although we didn't bring too much stuff with us. Stop on by, we will give you the tour--it will take 30 seconds....hahahaha.

Let's see, framing, then roof and then windows/siding.  It would be nice to have something to walk through by the 4th of July--feel free to stop by--or call us and we will meet you there.  Lots of stuff to see--and seeing the real thing is better than looking at those darn floor plans!

As for our previous house--we pre-closed last week, and the buyers are closing tomorrow at noon.  So, we have about 7 hours of being homeowners of that house.  Wally and I did our final walk through on Saturday, just to be sure we had everything, put the garage door openers and any spare keys on the counter, etc.  It was happy and sad and weird and good all at the same time. SO many memories there--it is the only house our kids know--the back yard, the garden, the trees from Nana BJ--but there are so many more memories to make both here in the apartment and soon in our new home.

We are truely BLESSED!

Love you all!!!!!!

All is well on Saturday morning...

Woke up this morning to the roofer's truck in our driveway--7:14 am and the guys are scraping off the old roof....will be done today.  So grateful that the weather is perfect today!

Going to put some photos in...super exciting things this week!

The "SOLD" sign:
The basement hole:

It has been a great week.  The building expeditor meeting was great--he said we should be framed up in about 2-3 weeks...that means we can walk through and see our house coming to life!

Today will be a day of carting kids to and from events and packing up in between.  We are almost done--and then the big move is on Saturday! One week from today....we do love our current home...it will be so weird to not live here anymore...almost brings a tear to my eye--but then I think about our new kitchen with a huge pantry---a walk in closet--our own bathroom--and that tear turns into a smile.

More updates to come!!!!
