It is OFFICIAL!
This entry is for you, Diane... xoxoxo
Sorry I haven't posted for almost a week. We have been crazy busy here, in the OC Tuesday, May 15 was "inspection" date. We were confident, yet nervous. Turns out, all we have to do is install CO2/smoke detectors (now, we just have smoke and the plug in CO2), and fix the way the garage door is hooked up (thanks, Johnny!!!)
Ohhhh...and the roof. But we knew that before we even put the house on the market. In the process of getting some bids to have that done...and it will be done in the next two weeks.
So...as of June 15, we will no longer live here.
The plan? A plan? Ann and Wally have a plan???? But of course we do... hahahahaha.
The apartment at The Gables--on the corner of Howell and Drexel in Oak Creek. 3 bedrooms 2 full bathrooms. The FIRST time in over 15 years that we will not have to share a bathroom with our kids!! Pool, etc. "Balcony"---not going to encourage more than one person on that balcony at a time....yikes!
We hope to move out of Fieldpointe Dr and into the Gables the weekend of June 9/10.
A BIG BIG Thank you to David and Melissa and my Mom for helping pack and move 95% of everything that is NOT going to the apartment OUT of the house and into the storage unit.
As I sit here, I am on one half of the sectional couch--the other half is in the family room. Where there once was a piano and a chair (with no arms)..now sits boxes, full of things for storage..and a pile for Goodwill. We should take these to where they belong--but it is so nice and cool in the house, and so hot outside....
Thursday, May 24 is the FINAL meeting with the builders. We meet with the expeditor and sign the final plans. Then, we can sit back in our tiny apartment and let everything happnen. I promise I will blog more--when I know more.
It seems that the St. Joseph statue has worked. Diane: I will put it in the mail for you!!! hahaha
Bye bye for now...

Still Waiting...
After much chaos, we have accepted an offer on our home! Tuesday, 5/15 will tell all, as this is the new buyer's Inspection Date. We hope to pass with flying colors. If this happens, our closing date is June 15, 2012. That is in less than 4 weeks. (pause to panic....then continue....)
We have all been busy with the de-crapification process. Thank goodness for mini vans, storage units, Goodwill and the Oak Creek dump!
On the building front, just waiting for the building permits to come through. It will probably be another week or so until we dig. Since our lease for our apartment is 6 months, a week or two difference won't matter in the long run.
Stay tuned for an update this week!

Now we have to chose GROUT?
So, we have been through the building process before. Honestly, I don't remember much of it--sort of like having a child. You forget just how painful it was--so you have another--only you mother's would understand that.
15 years ago, we built our first home. There weren't many choices then--x or y, 3 or 4, a or b.
My, how things have changed.
Some things were easy--the exterior, the flooring, the lights (they come in a package and upgrading was crazy money...). Other things took more time than I thought possible. How does one choose between ceramic tiles with names like Tuscany Brown, Heathland Sage and Traquita Noce? The names alone made me swoon.....then, we find out that we can have different tile in all bathrooms and laundry rooms? Well, crack open the champange!
So, we carefully pick the tile...then our decorator says "What about the grout?"
Grout? I wanted the color of dirt--I have ceramic tile, and I love it so--but the grout is enough to make me insane.
Even though I am second guessing all of our choices--I know we made the right ones. It is going to be beautiful

Let the Digging Begin!
A new house? Yes. A new house. No--we are not staying in Oak Creek forever--but we sure thought we were going to. Great opportunites happen when we least expect it--so we are taking this opportunity and enjoying every minute (most of the time).
Our current home, is on the market. We have had many showings...which is good. Our house is always very clean and organized, which is good, but is driving all of us crazy!
FRANKLIN? No worries. Sarah and Collin will still be in the Oak Creek district--no school/bus changes for them.
Here is our lot: All staked, survey completed! Let the digging begin! (We know the flags and stakes are little, but they are there--for real, Just squint a bit......now...see 'em?
